Workshop: Awakening
Trust
Thursday, August 27, 7-9
p.m.
Trust requires presence, occupancy and vulnerability. Yet being
present and occupied while still being undefended often leaves us
feeling too exposed. You will have a chance to explore how you stay
occupied in your body while in a vulnerable state and compare to
a more defended state. Learning the difference gives you choices
you may not have had before.

How
can we trust others, or ask trust from others, without self-trust?
Are you consistently on time? Do you tell yourself the truth? Do you
follow up on your commitments? Do you keep your word? Do you listen to
your intuition? Do you make and meet realistic expectations?
Every 'yes' is a step towards building self-trust. More self
trust fosters self-confidence and credibility.
Why do we avoid trusting ourselves? One of the most common reasons is
that along with trust comes responsibility. Accountability means
admitting when we have made a mistake and cleaning up our messes. It
also means re-committing every day to what we've agreed to or changing
the terms of those commitments. Neither of which is an easy thing to do
in long term relationships or work situations.
Responsibility also means setting boundaries, keeping the agreements we
make with our self and making goals we can manage. All of this takes
self-trust.
When we develop a deep sense of self-trust we will also inspire trust
in others. We can then be of service just by being our self.
Don't trust me - check it out yourself.
