Falling star like Autumn leaf
Jumpstarts inner sight

Hi,

We all have many things we long to do, be or have. We want to jumpstart these things but don't know how to get started. Or we don't have the time or resources. The biggest challenges are the things we want or need to let go of first.

I'm writing this because I'm not great at letting go. It's getting easier as I have done some very grand letting goes in my life. But it's still a learning edge.

I was once in a drumming circle with some lovely women who were curious about would come from doing it. At the time, I had some circles of friends and community where the dialogue and connection was deep and satisfying. The women in the drumming group were quiet and shy and conversation was light and topical. Sure, still waters run deep but trying many types of processes didn't deepen the group.

I hung in for a year - 10 months too long. Why? I didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings, or be the bad guy by leaving, had misplaced loyalty, and just didn't know a good way to leave.

My teacher holds up a pencil in his hand and asks how to let go. Just open your fingers and let the pencil drop. The implication is that it is easy. Just DO it.

It's the stuck fingers that are so hard to figure out. Why don't they want to open? What will happen when the pencil lands? Who will I be without this pencil (belief, thing or person)? What will my life be without this? The trick is knowing that we are gripping the pencil in the first place.

What is one attitude or belief or person in your life that is needed for you to let go of in order to have something else you desire.

Just think about it. For now. Once you figure that out you may have a handle on the grip!
